SCIENCE OLYMPIAD (NSO)

The National Science Olympiad is an academic and scholastic aptitude competition encouraging learning in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry & Physics

How students Benefit from NSO
A National Olympiad exam assesses the student at national level by doing away with the drawbacks and inadequacies of testing done at school / regional level. A national level assessment not only gives the student an idea where he / she stands but also the confidence to face exams at National level. 
The schools can rate the performance of their students at National Level and can improve the level of science education at their end
The National Science Olympiad invites students from 3rd class onwards to participate and excel at national level.
The First Level of the test is conducted in the respective schools of the participants during the school hours.

The competition has been divided into two levels:
 
Level 1 
(i)   The Level 1 competition is a written objective-type test of 60 minutes 
duration comprising 50 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions.
(ii)   The question paper consists of Science, Mental Ability and General 
Intelligence Section.
(iii)  There are separate question papers for each class.
(iv)  The medium of the test is English.
(v)   CBSE, ICSE/ISC and State Board syllabus is followed for setting the test 
papers.
Level 2  
Top 500 students along with all school-topper award winner of level 1 qualifies for the Level 2 from each class. For the level 2, admit card containing all information regarding exam centre, date, timing, etc. is issued to the qualified students through their respective schools.

Registration of Students
The event is open to the students of classes 3 to 12 and registrations have to be sent through the respective schools in the prescribed pro-forma. Registration sheets for the school and the students are enclosed with the information booklets which are posted to the schools all over India & Abroad.
No fee is required from the institution to bea registered examination Centre.
 
Date & Venue

The Level 1 of the Olympiad is conducted at the respective school premises of the participants during the working hours, preferably between 10 am and 11 am; whereas the Level 2 test is conducted at more than 50 centres across India and abroad.

CYBER OLYMPIAD (NCO)

The National Cyber Olympiad, the first of its kind in the country, is a nationwide talent search contest that locate and identify cyber savvy talent amongst the younger generation. It is as much about creating awareness about computers by bringing in an element of challenge and competition as about inspiring the younger generation to enhance their knowledge and comprehension of issues related to computers and information technology and to test their aptitude for taking up a career in computers in the future.

Rather than testing the text book knowledge of the aspirants, the Cyber Olympiad essentially be an aptitude test, laying stress on questions that call for mental, logical and analytical reasoning and also concern itself with the day-to-day issues pertaining to computers and information technology.

Eligibility
Students studying in classes 3 to 12 in English medium schools affiliated with CBSE/ICSE and state boards can participate in the NCO. All students of Class 9 to 12 interested in pursuing careers in arts, commerce and science should participate since the competition aims to test the student's aptitude for computers

Question Paper and Sample Papers
The participant has to answer 50 questions in 60 minutes. There is a separate question paper for each class.
Question paper have three sections
Section I   - Mental Ability (15 questions)
Section II  - Logical and Analytical Reasoning (15 questions)
Section III - Computer and Information Technology (20 questions)

Sample question paper for each class is sent to all schools with the information booklet and registration forms.
All questions are objective (MCQ) type. The question papers are prepared by SOF's panel of subject experts selected from all over India.

Level 2
Top 500 students of level 1 from each class are selected for the level 2 which be an online / offline test and be conducted across the country. Admit Cards mentioning the examination center details are issued to the qualified students through their respective schools.

Registration Procedure
While registering, the following detail of the students have to be fed in the Student's Registration Sheet (SRS) : name, class, father's name and marks obtained in the previous class in the prescribed format. Similarly, Principals / teachers may please note that any school may register as a centre for NCO. No fee is required from the institution to bea registered examination centre.

Fees
A nominal participation fee is charged from each student. Part of it is retained by the school for its expenses as the exam centre. Details about the fee/ mode of payment etc. are given in the School Registration Form (SRF) that is sent to the schools along with the prospectus.

MATH OLYMPIAD (NMO)

National Mathematics Olympiad (NMO) is a national level exam based on mental ability and maths to test your aptitude for taking up a career in maths / applied maths

Eligibility
Students studying in class III to XII can participate in NMO. Students of class XI and XII of all streams having maths are eligible to participate.
The participant has to answer 50 questions in 60 minutes. There be a separate question paper for each class.
